UK Girls BMX Jam Summer '05

Here we were at the fifth girls jam, it doesnt seem that long ago since the last one in Thornaby (RIP) back in March. 12o'clock came and as per usual the handfull of regulars to these jams were in attendance. By the end of the day the number had swelled to nine girl riders, unfortunately alot of the regulars were missing from this one due to holidays etc; but it didnt stop us from having the enthusiasm a bigger crowd of girls would have given. And a few new faces had turned up too which was great to finally meet them in person.

Caro and Chez had this small space for doin their thing, but riders, skaters and bladers kept riding through this tiny flatland designated area; apparently the park is under construction and a proper area with no ramps is underway soon -should be done by October. I have no idea of the names of the tricks they were doin (sorry flatlanders!) but what they were doin looked mint and as always we were all well impressed!

There was a few girls that came without bikes to support us and were sittin watchin all the action; one girl- Marianne stole Lil' Sam's bike and was off on it for most of the day- she hasn’t rode lately but says that shes into trails mainly and she was happy cruisin' at speed all over the ramps every time i saw her, so hopefully she's gonna get back into riding.

Kayley's such a live-wire, she made me feel my grand old age- this little miss is a total shredder, got the wallride done first time, and was also nearly airing the huge vert ramp.

Hazel arrived later on after a monster journey getting there, she was doing some awesomme grinds over the driveway rails.

Claire...what can i say...wouldn’t stop? Hitting up every ramp and rail in the place. She owned the vert by the end of the day. This girl just rides and rides and rides on. Did some fab feebles too.

I fakied everything as usual, tried some 180 disasters in the mini, i will get them dialed one day. Was luvin the rail over the driveway, and was trying some grind variations, and had fun trying to air the vert ramp with Claire, well I've got plenty to keep practising on in time for the next one.

Unfortunately no-one took notes this time, we were much too busy for that! I gotta say thanks to Chris at Scenario for basically givin up riding for the whole day to chase us about with his camera- also Caro Moussy and 'Lil Sam' Beirnis for also taking some pix. AND to everyone that made an epic journey to get there. Oh dear- see what i've done there HAHA.
